Yuuri partially cried as Conrad made another move to replace his bandage carefully. The older man was careful….really careful to such a simple wound like that. His wound wasn’t that bad, though. He only got a few wound in his feet .Just that. Beside that no harm was done. Actually, it was Gunter who dragged him along the way to get proper treatment for this simple wound. Well, it didn’t mean he didn’t want that kind of treatment. But honestly, Günter’s cries about ‘Heika getting hurt‘ was worse than his wound or even the last attack.
“Heika, are you okay?” Conrad asked softly with concern on his face. Behind him Yuuri could see that Gunter already running across the room. He smiled sheepishly,”Yeah. I’m just...a bit shocked. That antiseptic is really hurt anyway,” Yuuri said before abruptly being cut by Gunter’s cries,”Oh Heika…are you okay? How do you feel? Does it hurt?” He asked worriedly,”Heika...it’s so cruel. To see my beloved Heika get hurt like that. Ooh…if I’m able to heal you, I’ll take the pain away…”
“Stop it, Günter. I’m fine. There is nothing you must worry about,”Yuuri said, trying to pry from Gunter’s enthusiastic hug. Well, it wasn’t easy, though.
Normally, someone would shout and release him when Gunter tried something like this. But now…
“Lord Von Voltaire, have you found the cause of the bats’ attack?” Murata asked abruptly, shifted their attention to him, “They seem to be recognized by something...” after a while he added, “…or someone”
Gwendal narrowed his eyes as he faced the Great Sage directly. “Do you know something about this, Geika?” Gunter asked quickly.
The Great Sage just smiled as he answered the question, “I only have a prediction, and nothing more,”
Yuuri focused his attention to Murata, who was talking to Gwendal. He knew what his friend was talking about. After all, he thought the same as him. If he recalled what had just happened…
Flashback
Yuuri waited for the pain of being attacked, but it never came. He opened his eyes to see the bats freezing in their spot, floating in the air. They didn’t move_fly_or even attack him. They just stopped. Yuuri gave a confused look on this.
‘What are they doing?’ Yuuri though as he watched the bats floating in the air like balloon, ‘They were supposed to attack me, weren’t they? What’s happened?’
“Shibuya,” Murata’s voice snapped Yuuri from his though. He turned to see his friend stretching his hand to help him, “Hurry up,” Yuuri nodded quickly and was about to take Murata’s hand when a sudden noise of breaking glass startled them. They turned around to see some of the bats already runaway as fast as they can. Most of them however, still freezing in their spot, trembling. Their wings clapped fat as if they wanted to fly out at any second. But they still remained there_clapping their wings without moving
“What the…”
Abolish
Just as a second the bats stopped moving, freezing, before they turned into ashes all of sudden…
“…..we just confirmed it yet,” Yuuri had realized that Gwendal already finished his theory. He absolutely forgot that they were still in the meeting. Actually, he didn’t pay attention since Murata’s. So he didn’t know where the meeting was
“Well, they’re too nice to be recognized as a simple problem,” Murata continued cheerfully, “How can a group of bats accidentally attack us?” he somehow grinned, “Even batman wouldn’t be that stupid to do this,”
“Batman?” Günter repeated, confused,”What the _ Batman _ do with it? Was he one of our attackers?”
“Iie, Gunter,”Yuuri replied quickly, managed to explain as good as he can, “He’s just a fiction hero in my world_one of the heroes that looks like bat,”
Günter eventually started to imagine how-the-batman-must-look-like. Firstly, he imagined a hero, but it was Yuuri Heika who appeared in his mind. He tried to clear the image of Yuuri Heika hero version hard. But it was a difficult. Yuuri Heika was too cute to be removed from his mind. So he let it be and continued to the second steps: looked like the bat. He gave wings to the Yuuri Heika ‘cute’ hero version, but it didn’t suit him, though. He was still cute but….Then he added fangs _ still cute, a robe _ errs, rather, and many bats accessories _ weird.
“Gunter,” Yuuri called out as the older man didn’t response him for nearly five minutes. Being Gunter’s student for long time, he knew (for sure) that Gunter must be imagining something weird. Really weird.
The Maou’s advisor gasped,”Y-yes Heika?” Yuuri felt a bit guilty at that. Actually he didn’t yell at Gunter. But, you know, he just...weird. “Let’s just stop talking about Batman, okay?” he gave the man his usual innocent smile,”We must discuss about the attack mustn’t we?”
“Ah, yes,” Gunter replied, exchanging a look with Gwendal as if he asked for permission, “What do you want to know first Heika?”
“Um...ano...I...”
“I think it’ll be better if Shibuya study about vampires first,” Murata suggested with a small smile, which from Yuuri’s point view looked a bit annoying.
”Hey, I have studied about vampires this morning,” Yuuri exclaimed, “And I still remember what I’ve studied. About Daunt and everything,”
“Well, it’s good if you have studied about Daunt ,Shibuya,” Murata replied cheerfully, “So we don’t need to waste time anymore,” Even with Murata’s cheerful voice, Yuuri ,however, felt a bit annoyed.
“Hey, Murata. Is it just my feeling or you’re mocking me?” Yuuri suspiciously asked
“Well, it’s just your feeling then. I never insult you, do I?” Murata sent yet another big (suspicious) smile towards his friend who said nothing at the end about this. Murata Ken, after all, wasn’t an easy friend to handle,”Ne, Sir Von Chris, how if we start our lesson now?”
“Well, then...Heika.I’ll explain about vampires’ existence,” Günter started as Yuuri slowly nodded, “Like what I have said before, vampires are short like our, the Mazoku. They can use magic_mostly the black magic, and have long age...immortal for the higher rank. Might be the perfect race if wasn’t their weakness...”
The sound of crackling door abruptly shifted their attention. They turned to see a golden haired boy standing a few meters before them. The blond didn’t even care about saying something as he walked in. Yuuri was the first to break the silence as the blond stopped next to him,”Wolfram, where have you been? I’ve already looked for you all around the castle, do you know?”
“No. And none is your business, wimp,” he retorted coldly. And no one dared to object Wolfram’s firm statement. No one but...
“Don’t call me a wimp!” came Yuuri automatic reply. Whenever he faced Wolfram, he would say it more than once, at least.
“No, if you aren’t,” the blond calmly replied, “You’re a wimp and always are a wimp,”
“I’m not a wimp,” again,Yuuri automatically replied, “Why you...”He was about to say something when Gwendal cut abruptly with a firm voice,”Be quite you two,” It’s obvious that Gwendal was really in the bad mood at the time. He didn’t even glance to see what the couple might react. Yuuri closed his mouth as Wolfram ‘hmpf’ed as usual
“Ne, Sir Von Chris, why don’t we continue our lesson quickly? I’m curious,” the Great Sage asked happily, despite an awkward situation he currently stood in.
“O-of course Geika,” Gunter replied quickly, before he continued his lesson again,”Ah, yes, most of vampires’ weakness is sunlight,”
“Sunlight? So they’re the same with the vampires in earth, aren’t they? But what do you mean by most of them, Günter?” Yuuri abruptly asked,”Are some of them didn’t afraid of the sunlight?”
“Wimp,”
“Don’t call me a wimp!”
Despite the couple’s quarrel, Günter answered as if nothing happened,”Yes, higher rank vampires didn’t afraid of the sunlight. But it didn’t mean that the sunlight has no effect on them,”
“Huh?”
“In other case, the sunlight has some effect on them,” the great sage added, “But not as big as normal vampires, of course. They won’t turn into ash all at once. But they get a permanent effect,”
“Permanent effect?”
“Yes, Heika. They will get the effect every time they face sunlight,” Now it was Gunter’s turn to answer, “The effect is undescriable. It depends on their rank, we conclude. The higher their rank the fewer the effect will be,”
“What kind of effect will it be like?” Yuuri continued asking curiously
“Many. But most of the effect is their power became the half of their usual powers,”
“H-half?”
“Yes, Shibuya. Half. Their power will decrease at the time they face sunlight. Actually they will be the same as normal at the time,”
“Hey.Is it not dangerous? I mean, they’re...human...and vampires. Aren’t they...err...mazoku too...Aren’t they dangerous?” Yuuri partially asked, unable to construct his sentence correctly. Murata, however, chuckled at this.
“Vampires aren’t dangerous for the Mazoku. They have never attacked us, except if it was a critical situation like before,” Yuuri actually noticed the unusual tone in Gunter’s voice, but he just let it,” Normally, vampires only attack animals and sometimes..human to suck their blood. They don’t attack mazoku because of their magic,” Günter stopped for a while when Wolfram cut in,”Hmpf, they are stupid if they want to attack us,”
“They are more stupid if they attack you,” Yuuri whispered softly
“Did you say something Yuuri?”Wolfram abruptly asked
“No...Nothing,”Yuuri denied quickly, focused his attention to Gunter again. Wolfram, however, didn’t believe him that easily. Yuuri could feel his stare as Gunter continued his explanation, “If they attack us, then maybe something has happened,”

“Welcome back, My Lord,” a man bowed his head slightly as he faced his king,”It’s an honor to serve you,” he expected a response _ a single word, a praise, or even…a chuckle. Yes, he thought he heard his king chuckled. But, when he looked at his king, he wasn’t. His king _ that what he decided to call the man in front of him_ was sitting in his seat, looking at distance with a bored expression on his handsome face. Yes, handsome. Most of the vampires actually have handsome feature, of course. But there is something more with his king…something that brought slight uneasy feeling within him, even he’s a vampire. He felt different as if….
“What’s your name?” come a low yet cold voice asked
The man brought his head up, felt the fear(?) paralyzing him, ”Larz, My Lord,” he answered quickly, too fear to look straight into his king eyes, “You can call me Larz,”
“Larz,” his king repeated with a low whisper, “Good name, Larz,” he smiled, a smile that sent a shiver down their spine, “So, Larz, do you have something important to discuss with me?”
“Y-yes, My Lord,” he answered,”The group we sent to the Blood Pledge Castle has been destroyed by someone,” His king lips’ curved into a small smile,”We haven’t found the cause. But, about the target….”his tone changed into apologetic tone, “We haven’t…”
“The noble,” come an automatic reply
Larz spun his head up, unsure what his king has said, “Yes, My Lord?”
“The target is the noble,”

Do I write this chapter too long? I write this chapter in the middle of my class, so I don’t know how the chapter might be. I hope it wasn't too badly done. I'm not quite satisfied with it. Please review! You can tell me what you think or maybe what you want from my story (maybe you want I rewrite it? n_n) I’ll appreciate it. Actually, I want to rewrite it soon. Anyway, sorry for a lot of grammar mistakes, English isn’t my mother language after all. Please forgive me, okay? See you in the next chapter!
