Fun Facts : Around
the name " Wolfram von Bielefeld"
Country & City
:
- Bielefeld is a city located in Germany,
founded in 1214, and is a part of North Rhine-Westphalia. Bielefeld has a
population of roughly 325,000. Known and called the 'town of linen'. Located
and built to protect a pass crossing near the Teutoburg Forest. It was home to
a large castle, called Sparrenburg, during the medieval age, but this castle
was left to decay over the centuries. It was finally restored in 1879, but
doesn't represent the castle's original appearance.

Do you notice that there's a city
called "Wolfsburg" which is near Bielefeld? XD

People:
- His first name, we
estimate, came from Wolfram von Eschenbach. This Wolfram was born in
Eschenbach, Bavaria (A part of Germany), though the birth date is unknown, and
was a poet and knight in around the 13th century. He is considered one of, if not the best, of medieval
German narrative poets. His best know poem being Parzival, which is
considered one of the best German epics for the time in which had been
written.

- Stephen Wolfram (born August 29, 1959
in London, UK) is a scientist known for his work in theoretical particle physics,
cellular automata, complexity theory, and computer algebra, and is the creator
of the computer program Mathematica. Of Jewish descent, Wolfram's father, Hugo
Wolfram, was a novelist and his mother, Sybil Wolfram, was a professor of
philosophy at Oxford. Wolfram was educated at Eton public school. Often
described as a child prodigy, he published an article on particle physics at
age 16 and entered Oxford University (St John's College) at age 17. He
received his Ph.D. in particle physics from Caltech at age 20 and joined the
faculty there. His work with Geoffrey Fox on the theory of the strong
interaction is still used today in experimental particle physics. In 1987 he
co-founded a company called Wolfram Research, which continues to extend the
program and market it with success. As of today Stephen Wolfram is the
majority shareholder.
From 1992 to 2002, Wolfram worked on his
controversial book A New Kind of Science (NKS), which presents an empirical
study of very simple computational systems. Additionally, it argued that for
fundamental reasons these types of systems, rather than traditional
mathematics, are needed to model and understand complexity in nature.
Since the release of the NKS book in 2002, Wolfram has split his time between
developing Mathematica and encouraging people to get involved with NKS by
giving talks, holding NKS conferences, and starting an NKS summer school.
(Well, I've always obsessed with the idea if Wolfram does exist
on our Earth he would be a genius in Math and a gifted man in Information
Technology, and Mr. Stephen Wolfram has both requires XD If only he was blonde
and had green eyes... XD)
Science:
- Wolfram is also a
mineral. Also known as Wolframite. Another name in chemistry is tungsten.
- Wolfram syndrome, also called DIDMOAD
(Diabetes Insipidus, Diabetes Mellitus, Optic Atrophy, and Deafness), is a
rare genetic disorder, causing diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy, and deafness.
It was first diagnosed in 1938 by a physician named Wolfram in four siblings.
The disease affects both the brain (especially the brain stem) and the central
nervous system. Genetically it is thought to be recessively inherited.
Treatment: There is no known treatment.
( When I first read about this I nearly toppled over onto the floor. Well
yeah, he did make my eyes blind with love, make my ears hear nothing but him
when he started to say something and affect my mind, my brain together with my
central nervous system, so now you have a rabid girl here, incurable XDD I
think other Wolfram rabid girls would have just the same symptoms, ne? XDD)

(Well yeah, it doesn't
sound too hard to make this kind of cocktail. Would surely try it someday
*wonder if any fans has tried it XD * please tell me it you have ^^ And seems
like it has so many things to do with the people whose name contained these
letters: "W-O-L-F" and London, UK. Maybe I should target back to England instead
of German again to see if I could really find him XD)
